I worked, I saved, I planned to exhaustion
Comfortable house shared with kitty friend
Pleased by a boat and bike of distinction
I have no one on which I can depend.
Floating freely through time, day in, day out
I listen, I read, and I watch for fun
Less often do I get out and about
With my life’s time forever on the run.
Meals cooked, dishes washed, days after others
Lawn grows longer then mower rides again
Rake leaves, plant garden, tend to the gutters
Visit friend, socialize, through dance hall wend.
But if I had to speak my truth to you
I’d say I lack the warmth to see me through.
